Yes I know that the site was away for a total of 2 to 4 weeks. However it comes back after the Ravens beat the 49ers in the Super Bowl. The big game, one of the biggest draws for the NFL and the one time that even if your team isn’t competing in it, you are cheering for the team representing your favorite teams conference. This is a very prestigious game and it crowns the champion of the NFL for that season, so everything has to be flawless. You would think everything would be flawless until a power outage changes that! Throughout the first half for the Baltimore Ravens, they were dominant. You could say the Ravens were running away with the Super Bowl after the first half ended. However after the 108 Yard kick return by Jacoby Jones, the power goes out in the Super Dome. It took over half an hour to restore power and play resumed. After play resumed, you saw a completely different 49ers team.
So I’m sure Ravens and possibly all football fans were questioning their televisions as to what the hell happened to the power during the game!? Was this an underhanded tactic used by Jim Harbaugh!? Was this just an after shock after Beyonce lit up the halftime show!? Or was it just strange coincidence!? I chalk it up to poor management by the stadium staff and the NFL. Did it help the 49ers in some way, I think so. It might have messed up the momentum that the Ravens had going and gave the 49ers a much longer rest that they needed to get themselves back into the game. I know someone will say that I can’t really say that because the 49ers could have mounted a comeback even if the power stayed on. We won’t know that for sure and as it stands, power outage kinda helped the 49ers get back in it.
Sure the 49ers fell short of a great comeback but let’s be honest, they can partially thank the power outage for that. Also how could the crew at the stadium ALLOW this to happen on the NFL’s grandest stage!? The week before and the week of the Super Bowl they should have stress tested and stress tested and STRESS TESTED the electricity in that stadium to make sure what happened last night, DOESN’T. Never, and I do mean NEVER, have we witnessed something of this magnitude happen. The reason why we haven’t witnessed something like this during the Super Bowl….BECAUSE ITS THE SUPER BOWL. Yes, we’ll strike this up as one of the biggest slip ups in the history of the NFL but also we should be thanking the lord that it happened. If this didn’t happen we wouldn’t have a conversation piece that branches out to talking about the other big plays that happened! We quite possibly would have talked about how the Ravens literally ran away with the Super Bowl and how 49er fans are mad and how Kapernicking (Kisses non-existent muscle) is the thing of the past. The black out gave us a tremendous second half filled with twists and turns that we will never…ever…forget.
Congratulations to the Baltimore Ravens who won and a maybe next year for the 49ers who played their hearts out and possibly gave a few Ravens fans a heart attack.
