Just weeks after it was reported that both Netherealm and Rock Steady studios signed a deal with Epic Games that would make the newest Unreal Engine their exclusive developing engine, we have another studio who is jumping on the UE3 bandwagon. Coffee Stain Studios, who developed the game “Sanctum” which is a game that takes first person shooter and tower defense like action and smashes them together, has announced a long term agreement with Epic Games to use Unreal Engine 3 for current and upcoming projects. For those who don’t remember Sanctum, Epic & Intel held a $1 Million Make Something Unreal Contest. This game won multiple awards and decided to take the game from being an Unreal Tournament 3 mod to a standalone game. It’s going to be interesting to see what this studio can do with the new engine and what game comes out of it!
